How much does one credit cost and what is it used for?

One credit costs $0.15 USD. Credits are consumed when unlocking image details (file size, dimensions) and when performing a full optimization. Every new account receives 10 free starter credits to test the app.

Where do I find my Webflow API Token?

Log in to the Webflow panel and go to Settings → Apps & Integrations → API Access → Generate API Token. Make sure the token has read and write permissions for CMS collections. Copy it and paste it in the app's Settings tab.

The app supports JPG, JPEG, and PNG files. All are automatically converted to a modern WebP or AVIF format, which occupies 60–80% less space than the original while maintaining the same visual quality.

Accepted Answer

Alternative text (alt text) is a description of an image visible to search engines and screen readers. It improves your site's visibility in Google and accessibility for visually impaired users. The app generates them automatically using Gemini Vision AI in the language selected in your settings.

Are my images stored securely?

Accepted Answer

The app does not permanently store your image files. Images are downloaded from Webflow, processed in server memory and immediately published back to the CMS. Your Webflow API Token is encrypted in the database and is never disclosed to third parties.

How do Lossy and nearLossless compression modes work?

Accepted Answer

Lossy (default) is lossy compression — it permanently removes minor details invisible to the naked eye, making files 60–80% smaller while maintaining very high quality. You can adjust the quality level with a slider (80% by default).

NearLossless discards nothing — it saves the same details in a smarter, more efficient way (similar to how a ZIP archive compresses files without losing content). The image remains virtually identical to the original, but files are only 20–40% smaller.

For most use cases — photos for a website, blog, or store — we recommend Lossy mode: it provides significantly smaller files with quality indistinguishable to the human eye. Choose NearLossless when you need maximum fidelity, e.g., for graphics with sharp edges, text, or logos.

Does the app support multiple Webflow sites?

Yes! You can add multiple Webflow sites to one account. Switch between them using the site selector visible at the top of the page (e.g. "DTC"). Each site has separate settings, transaction history, and independent CMS data.

What should I do when an error appears during CMS scanning?

Accepted Answer

The most common cause is an invalid API Token or Site ID — check them in the Settings tab. Make sure the token has read permissions for CMS collections. If the problem persists, contact us through the form below or WhatsApp, providing the error message.

How do I check transaction history and download invoices?

Accepted Answer

You'll find all purchase and credit usage history in the Account tab. All operations are visible with date, type (purchase / usage / free) and credit count. Invoices for Stripe purchases are automatically sent to the email address provided at registration.

What to do when a file optimization error appears?

Accepted Answer

The most common cause is a Webflow site that has never been published — Webflow then refuses to save CMS changes, so publishing fails. Publish the site once in Webflow Designer (Publish button), then retry the optimization.

Other possible causes:
• an API Token with insufficient permissions
• a temporary AI service overload — try again shortly
• a problem downloading the file

The API Token should have permissions:
• Sites — Read
• CMS — Read and write
• Assets — Read and write

Can I add and edit alt text myself without using credits?

Yes. In the Images tab, you can manually enter your own alt text for any image and save it directly to Webflow — without using credits and without a limit on the number of images. Everything is done in one convenient, central place: you edit the text next to the image and click „Publish to Webflow”. When not using credits, you come up with the alt text yourself.

When do I need credits?

When you want the app to perform individual operations for you. These include:
• creating great alt text,
• creating a great SEO-friendly file name,
• converting the file format to WebP or AVIF,
• compressing the image,
• reducing image dimensions,
• deleting an image in Webflow CMS and uploading a new one,
• publishing the image to Webflow.

What happens when I run out of credits?

When you run out of credits, paid operations (generating alt text and file names, conversion, compression, and publishing) will be paused. You can top up your account at any time in the Account tab. Manually entering and saving alt text remains free.

Can I optimize multiple images at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the Images tab, select the images you want (or all of them) and start the optimization by clicking the „Optimize & Replace Files” button — the app will process the entire batch with one click.

Can I edit file names or alt text before publishing?

If you want to verify alt text and file names before publishing, use the „Recommend Alt Texts & Filenames” button. After they are generated, review the suggestions, correct them manually if necessary, and when you are ready, publish them to Webflow using the „Optimize & Replace Files” button.

Yes. In the Settings tab, you can choose the compression mode (Lossy or nearLossless) and the quality level via a slider, as well as set the maximum image width — larger images will be proportionally resized during optimization.

Alt text is generated in the language selected in the Settings tab. Changing the language in the settings will ensure subsequent generated descriptions are created in the new language.

Is optimization reversible, and should I create a backup?

Optimization replaces the image in the Webflow CMS with a new WebP or AVIF file — there is no undo button in the app. Therefore, before bulk optimization, we recommend duplicating your site in Webflow (Designer → site menu → Duplicate) to keep a backup.

Does the app also optimize images on static pages in Webflow?

No — this is not due to any limitations of the app, but rather the Webflow API itself. Through the API (token), Webflow only allows for managing images within CMS collections and page text. Images embedded directly on static pages (e.g., home page or Contact) cannot be replaced or optimized via the API — Webflow explicitly states in its documentation that image updates are not supported by the API, and such images must be changed manually in the Webflow Designer. Even broader token permissions (e.g., "Pages") apply to page data and text, not to image replacement. For this reason, the app optimizes images from the CMS, where the API provides full control.

How many credits does one image consume?

Accepted Answer

One credit unlocks one image—it is one credit per item. Unlocking includes a full set of operations for that image: detail preview (size, dimensions), AI-generated alt text and file name, and full optimization. Importantly, you only pay once: once an image is unlocked, subsequent operations on it are free of charge. The cost of one credit is $0.15 USD.

Will I get my credits back if an optimization fails?

A credit is deducted only once—for unlocking the image, not for every attempt. If an optimization fails, the image remains unlocked, so you can retry the process (or text generation) without being charged again. There is no automatic refund to your balance, but you will not pay a second time for the same image.

How long does a scan or optimization take?

A CMS scan usually takes from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the number of collections and images on your site. Optimization takes a few seconds per image (file download, AI analysis, conversion to WebP/AVIF, upload, and publication in Webflow), so the total time depends on the number of selected images. You can track progress in real-time via the progress bar.

Why WebP/AVIF, and do all browsers support them?

WebP and AVIF are modern formats that, at the same visual quality, weigh much less than JPG or PNG — WebP usually by 60–80%, and AVIF is typically another 20–50% lighter than WebP. Smaller files mean faster page loading, better Core Web Vitals scores, and higher rankings in Google. The optimizer uses AVIF by default (you can switch to WebP in Settings). Support is virtually universal: WebP works in all modern browsers, and AVIF is supported by Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and Safari (since version 16.4), covering the vast majority of users. Note: AVIF is not recommended for Open Graph (social media sharing) images — use WebP there.
